Up it soared

Higher & Higher

Wings out-stretched

Flapping Faster

Away from the green

Away from them

Those petty humans

That thought she was free

Free she was with no family

Free she was with no home

What good were wings

On a rainy day with no food

What good was freedom

On a frigid wintery morn

No she wasn’t free

Yes she could fly

But she envied

Their eternal companionship

So she flew

Closer to the clouds

So she flew

Away from the sun
