A tear rolled down her cheek
As once again the truth settled in
A tear rolled down her cheek
The same one that they said was ugly

Each day she hated the mirror more
Each day she fought another battle within

But it never ended, never changed
Was it because she did nothing?
If so why didn’t she they asked?

What was she to say?
That she knew it’s fruitlessness
That she couldn’t stomach change
That she knew no matter what she’d always be ugly
